Masterclass – Gemma O’Brien Seasons: Typographic Poster Paintings

From the Impressionists’ pursuit of fleeting light to Alphonse Mucha’s commissioned decorative panels, the seasons have long inspired artists and shaped visual culture. Today, shifting weather patterns bring new meanings — from joy to disruption.

Autumn, été, the blooming of cherry blossoms, big rain, or eels migrating to a new location — from words to nature, different modes of communication can represent the same thing.

In this three-day masterclass, we’ll explore personal, experimental ways to express seasonal transitions through typography. Guided by Gemma O’Brien, each participant will create a large-scale A0 poster using analogue and digital techniques.
