This workshop offers a unique opportunity to develop your typographic skills and achieve tangible results within a short time frame.
PROGRAM
Day 1 | Introduction and letter exercises
- Morning Talks by Team Thursday, Kristyan Sarkis & Vera van de Seyp
- Character Club: timed letter exercises. Work fast, slow, rough, detailed.
- Relay assignments (passing exercise where everyone works on each other’s letters)
- Visit the Graphic Matters Reading Room: inspirational books
- Continue working on letters (also possible with the computer)
Day 2| Compositions: analog and digital
- Participants work on a sentence in their own section of 16 pages
- Editorial design: page sequence
- Design intermediate pages
Day 3| Composing the book
- Review and collaborate on content
- Cover designs
- Making dummies
- Print file ready
- Presentation of the dummy!
After the masterclass, you can order the book and have it delivered to your home.
Supplies
- Laptop with design programs (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc)
