Together with Anthony Burrill, you will explore the power of language and typography, and how they can be used to communicate meaningful, positive messages that foster a sense of community and connection. The goal of this masterclass is to design and produce a series of printed posters for public display. Works that provoke thought, spark curiosity, encourage engagement, and inspire conversation. Through simple yet impactful graphic approaches, participants will express their perspectives on the world and invite others to reflect, respond, and take part in the dialogue.
Using simple letters but powerful messages, British designer Anthony Burrill creates impressive graphic works. He combines traditional craft skills such as typesetting with a variety of media: from posters to murals and skateboards – nothing is off limits. His style is described as minimalist and direct, reducing complex ideas to their purest, most accessible form. As well as posters, Burrill creates installations, such as a four-storey-high mural in Leeds and a giant typographic installation in Covent Garden, London.
