Masterclass – Erich Brechbühl Content becomes Form

In a time where design is often driven by style and speed, this masterclass focuses on something else: meaning. Starting from a given piece of content – a text, a situation, or an idea – participants will develop visual responses that are not decorative, but necessary. Through interpretation, transformation, and iteration, content becomes form. The goal is not to create something that looks good for a moment, but something that communicates, challenges, and stays.

For Erich Brechbühl, posters are an important medium for exploring ideas freely and creatively. He is known for his experimental and expressive approach to visual communication. In his work, Brechbühl often uses playful typography, unusual compositions and bold colours to create posters that stand out and surprise. His posters demonstrate how graphic design can push boundaries and create new visual languages.
